Lynx PR: demonstrates unique safety and security technology collaboration at IoT World Conferences

2017-05-17T12:22:23+00:00

Technology demonstration follows partnership between ETAS and Lynx San Jose, California, and Reading, UK, 17th May 2017 – Combining certified safety-critical software platforms with the award-winning LynxSecure Separation Kernel Hypervisor is allowing developers in regulated safety industries to use military-grade security technology to protect safety-certified systems from malicious attack. Combining the FAA certified LynxOS-178 RTOS with LynxSecure was the first example of this protection strategy, used in avionics and transportation applications. In March, Lynx announced a collaboration with ETAS to help secure autonomous and connected vehicles, and the demonstration of that combined technology will be a focus for Lynx Software Technologies at IoT World, Booth 731 on May 17th and 18th in Santa Clara, CA, and IoT World Europe, Stand 46 on June 13th-15th in London, UK. At both IoT World in Santa Clara and IoT World Europe in London, Lynx will demonstrate how the highly efficient LynxSecure Application bare metal virtual machine technology is used to integrate the classic AUTOSAR environment provided by the ETAS RTA-BSW. This demo illustrates how existing AUTOSAR software can be integrated into a powerful DC/VC ECU, [...]

Consolidating and Securing Automotive Software Environments

2017-03-23T09:32:58+00:00

The complexity of today’s automobiles is increasing with every new model on the market. A modern car can contain up to 100 electronic control units and with connectivity and autonomy becoming growing trends, this is set to increase dramatically in the coming years. Many of these systems up until a few years ago have safely run on microcontrollers on an unsecured vehicle network, and this has been fine; the networks were ‘air-gapped’ from the rest of the world, and the risk of a malicious attacker causing any kind of danger to a car’s occupants by directly plugging in a new device was as likely as someone cutting the brake lines. The automotive industry on the whole were happy with this risk. Today, however, we are seeing a shift from mechanical cars that use computing for assistance, to computerised cars that use mechanics for movement. As the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and autonomy find their way into automotive designs, we are expecting more and more out of our cars. Functions such as object-recognition, machine learning, and even rendering graphics for HMI systems [...]

ETAS and Lynx Software Technologies Collaborate

2017-03-14T16:48:32+00:00

ETAS and Lynx Software Technologies collaborate to deliver safe and secure platform technology to support the needs of next generation connected and autonomous vehicles The RTA-BSW AUTOSAR software from ETAS, Embedded Security by ESCRYPT, and the LynxSecure Separation Kernel Hypervisor from Lynx bring the best of the safety and security worlds together for the automotive industry. The next generation of connected and autonomous vehicles requires powerful domain controllers/vehicle computers (DC/VC ECUs) to be introduced into the EE architecture. The DC/VC ECUs will use powerful microprocessors with richer, more adaptive software platforms – but they still have challenging safety, security, and real-time requirements; AND, they must also integrate with the classic platforms. The solution offered by bringing together ETAS, ESCRYPT, and Lynx offers the trusted safety and secure software foundation required by DC/VC ECUs. Stuttgart, March 14, 2017 – ETAS and Lynx Software Technologies unveiled a new collaboration that brings the automotive safety-critical world together with the highest levels of security to meet the demanding needs of the next generation of connected and autonomous high performance automotive systems. The embedded world Exhibition&Conference in [...]

Lynx Software Technologies reveals first ARM port for LynxSecure

2017-03-14T16:41:57+00:00

Demonstrates LynxSecure for the Xilinx UltraScale+ at Embedded World 2017 Combined hardware/software & safety/ security platform on display Lynx Software Technologies and Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) are announcing the demonstration of the LynxSecure Separation Kernel hypervisor on the Xilinx ® Zynq ® Ultrascale+ ™ MPSoC at Embedded World. This first view of LynxSecure on an ARM ® processor will be shown on the Lynx Booth (Hall 4-423), and marks a significant milestone for designers of ARM-based automotive, avionics, industrial and medical devices Robert Day, vice president of marketing at Lynx, commented, “ARM designers are now able to run safety critical environments alongside a general purpose OS like Linux or LynxOS RTOS on the same Xilinx processor without compromising safety, security or real-time performance. Use cases include automotive systems based on environments such as AUTOSAR RTA-BSW from ETAS and avionics designs using LynxOS-178 RTOS from Lynx. Designers can match the security of air-gap hardware partitioning without incurring the cost, power and size overhead of separate hardware.” Simon George, Director, Product Marketing – Embedded Software at Xilinx, added, “The combination of LynxSecure and Xilinx Zynq [...]

Lynx demos IoT security in the real world at RSA 2017

2017-02-13T08:00:05+00:00

Key security technology, LynxSecure, is also highlighted in the latest Forrester Tech Radar IoT Security Report 2017 San Francisco, California, 13th February 2017 – Lynx Software Technologies, with its world leading separation kernel hypervisor will be exhibiting IT and IoT security solutions for the 7th consecutive year at the RSA Conference in San Francisco from February 13th – 16th 2017 (Booth 618, South Hall). This year, Lynx will be showing the latest version of the LynxSecure Separation Kernel Hypervisor in a number of real-world security demonstrations. They show how LynxSecure provides corporate / private domain isolation on a single endpoint device, with the corporate domain connected to a secure IoT Gateway also protected by LynxSecure. This IoT gateway will isolate the Operational Technology (OT) network from the Information Technology (IT) network and protects the data as it flows between the domains and systems by using separate encryption domains, and by enforcing strict uni-directional data communication. Lynx is also demonstrating its partnership with Webroot, and Ad-sol Nissin, a key security partner in Japan, by showing a LynxSecure-based closed network security solution that accesses [...]
